Assistant Professor of Psychology

Rosemary (Marah) L. Al-Kire, PhD
I am an assistant professor in the psychology department at The University of New Hampshire, where I direct BASIL (The Beliefs, Attitudes, and Social Identity Laboratory).
As a trained social psychologist, I study how social identities and belief systems shape human interactions and contribute to the creation and maintenance of social hierarchies. I often focus on highly contentious contexts such as religion and politics, and how these phenomena shape real-world outcomes like policy decisions.
I completed my undergraduate and master's degrees at Northern Arizona University (2015, 2018), my PhD at Baylor University (2022), and my postdoctoral training at the University of Washington (2025).
